System Report
The TRI-MET Center Street facility in Portland, OR, placed the greatest challenge to date for Robertson Air Systems. Vacuuming the entire fleet of 247 busses daily on two fuel lanes required more bus vacuuming performance than any other facility known to us.
In June of 1998, Robertson Air Systems successfully installed two bus vacuum systems that pull up to 26,500 CFM. An excellent seal between the bus and bellows is being achieved on most busses. The tremendous air movement through the busses during vacuuming is daily successfully cleaning all the busses.
The Center Street Facility has a service island width of 74" (the same as the TRI-MET Powell Street Facility) and is the narrowest space into which a twin cyclone bus vacuum system been able to fit.
The system has been in virtual nonstop operation from start up in June 1998 and we look forward to successful operation for many years to come.
